Write a book divided into parts of 140 characters. That was the challenge given to British writer, David Mitchell . The proposal initially came about to promote the launch of a new publication, “ The Clock Bones ”, but quickly became a success within Twitter itself .

“ The Right Short ”, the name of the story, was divided into small switzerland email list excerpts and published over the course of a week. Every day, 20 new posts were released, and in total, around 280 tweets were made. The innovative narrative deconstructed the traditional way of telling stories and allowed the author to approach new audiences, especially younger people who are not as familiar with literature.

Although he does not consider himself a fan of social media, David Mitchell confesses that the artistic potential of the Internet in general is enormous. In an interview with the BBC, the author stated that the idea of telling a story on Twitter was not his and that it came from his editor. He also adds that until the date of publication of the narrative he did not even have a personal account on the social network.

The truth is that, even though the page was named after David Mithcell, its administration was the responsibility of the publisher. A good marketing strategy , admits the writer.

Absorbed by the effects of this drug, the young man begins to think about episodes in his life and describe the different encounters he witnessed or experienced.

Despite being described as positive, the experience did not make David Mitchell surrender to the social network. Even so, the writer enjoyed the challenge so much that he did not exclude the possibility of writing another story with a similar structure. “ It was really difficult ,” he said. “But, I like these ‘straitjackets’ and maybe I need the limit imposed by these
