Ecurity reasons are no argument against online shopping

When it comes to security, many Internet users are still cautious about online banking. One in eleven (9 percent) never do any banking online, and 12 percent do not do it at all. Due to security concerns, 7 percent of Internet users decide against any social networks, and 13 percent do not use social media at all.

Another 5 percent never use cloud services such as online storage or online photo albums, and one in eight (12 percent) sometimes do without them. Internet users have the fewest security concerns when shopping online. Only 5 percent never shop online for this reason , and 4 percent avoid online shops partly for security reasons.

Note on methodology: The information is based on a representative survey conducted by Bitkom Research on behalf of the digital association Bitkom. 1,010 Internet users aged 16 and over were interviewed by telephone.
