What is WordPress?
It is a CMS ( content management system ) that was initially made for blogs, and in a short time it was possible to create websites, virtual stores, communities, apps and much more with the platform.

If you’re not familiar with CMSs, here’s how it works: WordPress sits “behind” the website. It’s the system used to manage it.

Through the WordPress dashboard, the person responsible for the website makes content updates, creates new sections, adds new features/tools/plugins, changes the look of the project, and so on.

The possibilities are almost endless .

Currently, more than 38% of websites in the world use WordPress. Of those websites, counting only those that use a content management system, that number jumps to almost 64% .

WordPress.org or WordPress.com?
Yes, there is that difference. Between you and me, they made a big mistake when it came to choosing the domains.

First of all, it is worth noting that WordPress as a content management system is the same in both cases. What changes is the following:

WordPress.org: This is the “raw” system, which you download (for free) and install on a hosting service of your choice. It is by far the best option, as you will have complete freedom to do whatever you want.
WordPress.com: This is a pre-hosted WordPress option. Everything is ready and installed, so you just have to sign up and your site will be up and running in a few minutes. It sounds great, but there are several limitations (especially on the free plan). To have more freedom with the tool, you will have to pay a much higher monthly fee than you would if you opted for WordPress.org.
So, obviously the focus of this post is with WordPress.org , since I'm talking about the CMS itself!
