Your marketing automation strategy should vary depending on what tools you use and what your goals are. For example, if you decide to use HubSpot to “nurture” leads who download your free ebook, your strategy will focus on converting those leads using relevant information.

Regardless of your marketing automation strategy, remember these marketing automation best practices:

Know your audience. You can’t create personalized marketing—automated or not—without knowing your audience’s pain points. Build buyer personas to get to know your audience before building your automated marketing workflows. 
Know your customer journey. A key determinant of successful marketing automation is the ability to “meet” your lead, no matter what stage they are in.
