Dissecting the YouTube ranking algorithm

Post by sharminakter »

If you search for "permit advice", you will see a big difference in the number of views between the video in first place from Vidéo Permis, with 349,000 views, and the one from Hello Permis, which is in second place with only 80,000 views. The first video is half as short, so it is more likely to be watched to the end.

Tip : Don’t wait for YouTube’s ranking algorithm to kick in. Actively promote your video and share it across multiple channels while it’s still fresh to gain more traction and reach a wider audience.

Evaluating the impact of engagement metrics on YouTube rankings
YouTube has publicly stated that it encourages italy telegram data creators to interact with their audience to maximize engagement and achieve better rankings.

While we could have taken YouTube's word for it, we decided to see to what extent and how engagement affects video rankings.

Likes
The average number of likes for the second position in YouTube search results is 72% lower than the average number of likes for the first position.

This data is illustrated in the previous example, where the Vidéo Permis video got about 4 times more likes than the Hello Permis video (9K vs. 2K likes).

The difference between the first position and the following ones is quite spectacular. But this information can be based on the same logic as the chicken and egg.

Higher ranked videos get more views, and therefore more likes and dislikes. The number of likes is related to the number of views, with a correlation coefficient of 99%.
