Stay away from the Outlook app!

Microsoft published this support page with a feature comparison on January 31, 2025 - but left out a lot. If anyone is interested in this new Outlook app, they should read the blog posts Outlook app stores passwords in the cloud and analyzes emails and Data octopus new Outlook app: "Monitoring tool for targeted advertising" . This is because the new Outlook app requires that the login data for all mailboxes and calendars be sent to Microsoft's servers. These then query the calendars and mailboxes and then pull the emails into the Microsoft cloud. From there, the new Outlook app simply fetches the whole thing for display.

With regard to the integration of mailboxes in the business sector, I pointed out in the article New Outlook client requires at least a license with Microsoft 365 Standard which license traps lurk there. What can I do?
Microsoft writes in this support article that the new Outlook for Windows will be automatically installed on Windows 10 22H2 with the optional Windows 10 release on January 28, 2025 and with the monthly security update release for Windows 10 on February 11, 2025.

Uninstall the new Outlook app
As soon as the new Outlook app has been installed on Windows 10, users should be able to uninstall it again. This should be possible via the context menu. Alternatively, it is possible to uninstall it using the following PowerShell command:
