Black Friday: the day when most sales take place around the world

Many people don't know, but in the United States , there are two days in November that are very well-known and valued by the population, even though they don't have the same impact in European or Asian countries... at least for now. At the end of each November, Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the last Thursday – a holiday that is similar to Christmas and in which families and friends gather around the table, with a turkey and other delicacies, to give thanks for all the good and bad that they have experienced during the year. It is very likely that you have already heard of this holiday – the famous Thanksgiving – which so often appears in television series and news, especially when we see the President of the United States pardoning a turkey.

However, Thanksgiving also means the beginning of the Christmas season. That's why, the day after the holiday, there's a real party in the shopping malls. Why? Because it's the famous Black Friday .

Faced with this situation, the government was forced to intervene to correct the distortion, increasing the supply of the raw material on the market. As expected, this caused a fall in prices and the loss of fortunes by investors.

However, although there were some discussions about whether the day should be called Big Friday , from 1975 onwards it seemed to be well established that the term Black Friday would be used from then on.
