Why Creativity is so Important to Me
For as long as I can remember, I france telegram screening have been creative my whole life. For me, creativity doesn't just mean being able to paint or draw beautiful pictures, but above all, it means creating something new using existing resources.

When I look back over the nearly five decades that I have been creating, my most creative moments have always been when I had an impulse to do something new and my resources were limited.

I like to think back to the children's and youth programs on Saturday afternoons on television, in which new projects were always being presented. I remember watching a program about knitting. While the program was still on, I ran into our basement, looked at what was available and came back upstairs to my room with a roll of terribly scratchy orange-red wool and two thick blue plastic needles and started straight away. At first it was all about learning.

In fact, it turned into a "sweater" which was of course absolutely unwearable in terms of fit, size and wearing quality.

Eventually he ended up where the wool had come from.

In the basement.

Only to be brought out again a few years later when a "chainmail" was urgently needed. Then I remembered this "sweater". My parents' basement was (and is) a real treasure trove and after a short search I found a can of silver paint. In the garden the "sweater" was then turned into a "chainmail". A pretty awful chainmail - admittedly. It still shimmered orange and to top it all off it now stank of the spray paint and of course it was terribly scratchy. After one use it was thrown away. But that didn't matter.
