When we talk about e-commerce, we always need to mention the biggest giant in this universe: Amazon.com . Currently recognized as the largest online store in the world, it sells everything from books, clothing, mobile phones and toys to wine, streaming movies and series and home products.
However, how did an embryo born in 1994, almost at the same time as the birth of the Internet as we use it today, grow to now have a capitalization of more than 132 billion dollars? The answer to its success remained hidden for many years by Jeff Bezos , the creator and CEO of Amazon . However, some light has recently been shed on the type of mexico email list path the multinational followed to get to where it is today.
In September 2013, when the Washington Post was acquired by Amazon.com , Jeff Bezos admitted that he hoped to apply the same principles to the paper that had underpinned the online retailer over the years. Basically, there were three ideas.
Amazon: The 3 pillars of success, according to Jeff Bezos
1 – Put the customer first
In 1994, when Amazon.com was launched, everything was set up for the customer : shopping carts, email confirmations, detailed information about shipping orders... However, and although most people don't know it, a major problem remained: Amazon was unable to respond correctly to all orders because the warehouses from which the products were shipped did not belong to the company.
How to solve the problem? The answer is more obvious than it seems: acquire these warehouses and optimize the shipping of orders , so that no errors are allowed. And that is exactly what Amazon did, always concerned with putting the well-being of the customer first.
Thanks to all this size and efficiency, Amazon was able to buy products at a very low price and instead of raising the price for customers in order to generate profit, it kept the prices affordable, taking a small profit. Thus, Amazon continues to be the sales leader today and capitalizes billions of dollars.
2 – Invent
Amazon.com has also shown that success is something that is constant and deserves continued care, especially when it comes to product creation. Despite having proven that the initial system would be successful, Amazon did not stop there and continued to invent, always seeking to be more and better. This is how, in recent years, a wide range of Amazon products emerged. The Kindle – a type of tablet for reading books – caused a stir and inspired the creation of other devices for reading e-books. The Amazon Prime Instant Video service – a streaming service for watching films and series, which takes advantage of the decline of TV and the growth of other devices for consuming audiovisual content. And, of course, AmazonFresh : the service launched by Amazon in 2012, which brings all the groceries you need to your home in less than twenty-four hours.
3 – Be patient
Patience is the last ingredient in this formula for success. To reach the top, we need to climb the mountain, but this is not a journey that can be completed overnight. We need to be patient, face challenges, and overcome obstacles. Jeff Bezos never expected to succeed the first time.
Success, Jeff Bezos understood from a very early age, does not come from having an idea but from nurturing that idea over time, knowing how to maintain interest, learning to improve it.
