What are Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Signals are the set of three individual metrics that are wrapped up in the overall page experience:

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
First Input Delay (FID).

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
Largest Contentful Paint, or LCP for short, measures the loading speed and performance of a web page. Google says that LCP should occur within 2.5 seconds of the page starting to load for optimal loading speed.

First Input Delay (FID)
First Input Delay, or FID, measures interactivity. FID measures the time it takes for a user to first interact with an element on a web page (click a link, touch an object, etc.) until that specific element begins processing in response to the user's action.

Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
Cumulative Layout Shift, or CLS, measures visual stability. Google states that objects and elements should not move on a page while it is being rendered/loaded for a user. Basically, CLS refers to any expected layout changes that occur during the lifecycle of a web page.
