To support our claim of being the fastest, we conducted a two-part study.
The first part was a competition to see which backlink tool could find a new link the fastest and which tool won this "competition" most frequently. We used a random sample of 33,000 URLs to do this study.
In the second part, we looked at exactly how long it germany whatsapp number would take Semrush and other tools to find a new link and then display it in the tool’s user interface.
For this second step, we used RSS feeds to search for parts of the web with a lot of traffic, and also be able to see when an article was published.
Part 1. Who Sees New Links First: Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or Majestic?
First, we looked at a random sample of URLs provided by an independent provider – Common Crawl .
The question we wanted to answer was:
Using data from Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Majestic, which tool will first identify new links to these URLs?
We received a random sample of over 33,000 URLs from Common Crawl.
For each URL, we measured the time it took for it to be discovered for the first time as a backlink by Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz and Majestic
We calculated the number and percentage of cases where each data provider found a backlink at least one day before the others.
If two data providers detected the same backlink on the same day, we considered it a tie and awarded one point to each.
If a provider did not find a backlink at the time of measurement, it was counted as the last to discover this link.
As we can see in the graph below, Semrush outperformed its competitors by a truly astonishing percentage: 37% of the time.
