How to reach generation x through email marketing

Post by bitheerani44556 »

On more than one occasion, in this blog, we have talked about how to reach Generation Y (or Millennials) through Email Marketing. In fact, if we look back, we can easily remember that reaching this generation is relatively simple, given that it is an age range that was born totally immersed in the digital world; that always carries their mobile device with them and, in the vast majority of cases, they have their own personal email account registered on it. Therefore, when it comes to implementing Email Marketing with the aim of reaching Generation Y, things become easier and smoother. But… what will happen, then, with Generation X? A generation that, having been born between 1961 and 1981, has not seen the absolute need to carry a mobile device with them at all times; what's more, they have not even seen the need to have constant access to the Internet before everything else .

Today, we're talking about exactly this topic: how we can use Email Marketing to reach Generation X. So, my e-marketer friend, if your target audience falls into this age group, what are you waiting for? Grab a pen and paper and pay attention to everything we have to tell you.

What data certifies that Email Marketing is ideal for Generation X?

Before we start explaining the clear reasons why, if your audience is among small business email list the ages that make up the well-known Generation X, you can and should implement Email Marketing, we have to tell you something: Email Marketing, as we have already told you in many of our articles, has always been (and is) one of the most well-known and successful pieces of Digital Marketing, no matter how far back we go. It has always worked as a perfect direct connection point between brands and consumers. And, although it is true that new channels have been emerging over the years, the power of Email Marketing has always been highly recognized by any digital expert.

In this way, even though at the beginning of our article we told you that, possibly, reaching an audience of older ages would be a difficult task, the truth is that it is not at all impossible, because - if it were - the previous statement that "Email Marketing has been exceptional in terms of its beginnings" would not be entirely true.

Generation Z vs. Generation X
If there is one thing that significantly differentiates these two generations, it is, without a doubt, the greater or lesser dependence on the Internet. Generation Z, who always carry their mobile device with them (and of whom we could say - and it would not be a nonsense at all - that, if they forget their mobile at home, they probably won't hesitate for a second to turn around and go get it), is a generation that is extremely immersed in instant messaging and live chat. In fact, they will rarely choose to make phone calls if they have the option of sending a WhatsApp. And what about the landline at home? That's out of the question.

We leave that to Generation X, a generation that was born at a time when the Internet was still only for a privileged few, so their dependence on it is not so extremely high.

However, as we said, Generation Z is highly dependent on instant messaging, so for them, the main communication techniques of brands are based on social networks such as Instagram, WhatsApp or Facebook. Meanwhile, consumers over 45 years old tend to understand the Email Marketing technique as the key tool to receive information .
