Hello everyone, today we are going to talk about three mistakes to avoid with Ser and Estar in Spanish that intermediate level students make. It is not always a question of not understanding, it is a question of lack of exposure, and of use.
Since I don't want you to comment on them, I'll comment on them for you:
You can listen to it on Spotify
1st mistake: ser and estar with dates and quantities.
In Spanish we always use “ser” with dates , for example: Today sms gateway serbia is September 27, the meeting is on October 10, my birthday is on January 5.
Except for locating us in time : It is September 27 (always with us and the preposition “a”).
We also use “ser” with quantities: there are seven of us on my team, there will be 300 people on the plane, and there will be five presenters at the conference.
2nd mistake: Translating “c'est” as estar
The structure “C'est intéressant, c'est un musée, c'est le rapport annuel” is always translated as “es” in Spanish: It is interesting, it is a museum, it is the annual report.
