According to information from MCom, the new open TV broadcasting standard will allow broadcasters to create applications to broadcast their content. Thus, the system of choosing channels by number will become obsolete. In addition, the technology promises to deliver features such as:
Higher quality images:
According to what was released by MCom, TV 3.0 will be able to transmit images in 4k or even 8k. That is, it will have 4 to 16 times more pixels than current Full HD images;
Immersive Audio:
With the immersive audio system of TV 3.0, viewers will be able to select the sound they want to hear in a scene or event. For example, at a football game, it will be possible to highlight the sound of the crowd. Meanwhile, at a concert , viewers will be able to isolate the singer's voice;
Advertising personalization:
With TV 3.0, broadcasters will have the power to create and broadcast interactive advertisements. This will make it easier to engage viewers and encourage them to make purchases;
Paid content offering:
Just as is currently the case with broadcast TV, access to TV 3.0 will be free for viewers. However, broadcasters will be able to provide, along with free content, premium services similar to those offered by streaming services , which will obviously only be available upon subscription;
Sales channel:
Since TV 3.0 will support applications, broadcasters and even manufacturers and retailers will be able to create apps to showcase products in the best live commerce style ; and sell these products directly through TVs. In other words, TV 3.0 could become a new sales channel that could be integrated with physical stores and e-commerce .
