We were now standing in line for check-in, slightly stressed and excited, with our huge travel backpacks, which temporarily caused our physical coordination to fail. With a thick folder full of entry documents, PCR test results and of course our passports under our arms, it was our turn after a short time and we were finally able to hand in our backpacks, so that we both only had to walk to the gate with a small carry-on backpack. By handing over the weight, we felt like we had also let go of all the stress that had accumulated over the last few weeks. After all, we knew that everything had to be under control now and if not, there was nothing we could do about it anyway.
We still had enough time before boarding, so we walked hong kong phone numbers to the gate, marveled at the crowds of people waiting there for their flight and decided to look for something to eat. A little later, about 15 minutes before boarding, we were back at the gate and were greeted by the ground staff with the words "you are the last ones". Once on the plane, we prepared for our first flight to Addis Ababa, which was to take 6 hours.
